What? Did you say something?
Let's just make the assumption that I am constantly studying to take the Nebraska Bar Exam and move on to what I'm doing with the precious little free time I have, okay?  (I want to add that, yes, it does indeed SUCK.  It's like I'm constantly studying for finals, but only now I have time to shower.)

Unfortunately, I've been stuck lying on my couch trying not to run out of Internet.  (It's what I tell The Boyfriend because "nothing" isn't a very exciting answer =- "What are you doing?" "Trying to run out of Internet."  One day I amazed myself and actually ran out of websites to visit.)  Why?  Well, I woke up on Thursday morning to the sound of....nothing.  In my left ear, that is.  I spent the rest of the day hoping my hearing would return, and I may or may not have accepted a job at a law firm in Omaha (I'm not quite sure what happened in that conversation).  On Friday morning I went to the Health Center - lucky for me you can still go there for a semester after you graduate as long as you pay the fees.  Considering that I have no health insurance and I actually did NOT want to become deaf, this was quite a lucky break.

Apparently, I'm a little kid despite having graduated from college, because I have an ear infection.  Lame.   The doctor recommended that I take massive amounts of Ibuprofen to combat the "worst pain of my life" (as she put it).  I was prescribed amoxicillin and eardrops.  The ear drops didn't help, and I was losing hearing in my RIGHT ear on Sunday.  The doctor wasn't actually lying or over-exaggerating on the pain part.  Ouch.

So, I went in to the Health Center again on Monday morning only to be told that I now had an ear infection in BOTH ears.  I was prescribed some newer, BETTER eardrops.  The only difference I've noticed is that I can hear even less than before, and I have to rely on my sister and my boyfriend, sorry, The Boyfriend, to baby me administer my drugs.  The pharmacist seemed to think Tylenol would work better than ibuprofin.  I would have scoffed at the idea, but I was desperate.  It did work, but the relief barely lasted for an hour rather than the 4-6 hours the pill bottle led me to believe.

My BarBri* class starts on Monday, and I really hope that my hearing returns by then.  It might be embarrassing to ask a classmate to administer the eardrops and i don't trust them anyway.

*BarBri is a completely overpriced Bar exam prep course that costs just as much as tuition only without the benefit of getting credit for it.  Sigh.
