Whee...
I feel like I've abandoned my LJ since my computer went into the shop.

Awww...

Well, the computer is back, and things have sort of settled down.  I started my internship yesterday, and I'm all settled into my subletted apartment.  Aside from having no food and no transportation, I'm doing great.

I purchased seasons 3, 4, and 5 of Gilmore Girls last week.  They were on sale at Best Buy for $19.99, and I'm without cable this summer.

That's right.  No cable.  I'm going to have withdrawals.  Seriously, I love TV.

Luckily, I have most of my DVD collection to keep me occupied, plus there's the outdoors... you know, I've got the mountains right outside so I should probably go hiking or something...

I'm mostly wondering what's going to happen to my movie reviews.  I have no idea where the movie theater is in this town (plus, there's that lack of a car thing).  I didn't see anything this weekend because of that whole "moving" thing.  I did, however, catch a Rockies game this weekend, so I guess I can give a review of that:  It was fun.  I highly recommend it. :)

Rockies v. Reds, Saturday
Coors Field is an amazing park and exists on a level all its own.  This statement comes from my vast experience in baseball stadiums, including but not limited to: watching The Boyfriend play various versions of "Triple Play", watching baseball on TV and tons of college baseball in person, and living in Missouri (yes, that totally counts for something).  Plus, there's my personal bias to consider.

The park is located downtown, making it convenient to take a bus and avoid trying to park a car anywhere nearby.

The game wasn't sold out or even close to it.  I suppose having a decent record might affect whether people want to attend or not.  However, the game was on a Saturday evening, so I thought that might encourage attendance.  It didn't.

It seems that the Rockies are marketing themselves as such:  Come to a game to see our awesome opponents!

It's a little sad.

My seat was pretty nice - great view of the entire park, but not so far away I couldn't see the pitches and complain.

I have a new favorite player: Kazuo Matsui.  You might think that my new favorite player would be Todd Helton or Matt Holliday, but you would be wrong.  Good guesses, though.

Highlights included: Matsui stealing a base; Todd Helton hitting a home run; and Ken Griffrey, Jr., striking out THREE TIMES.  Three!  Wow, what happened?  He used to be a great player...didn't he?  The Rockies winning was a nice touch, but, honestly?  The Reds are awful.

I also used my trip to vote for the All-Star game, and I let a few biases get the best of me.  I WANTED to vote for the players who were having the best year, but.... ALEX GORDON!  Wheee!  Of course, he absolutely does not deserve it, but I couldn't help it.  Heh.  I also voted for several Rockies players.

(I'm secretly a Rockies fan although I'm publicly a Cardinals fan.)

My cousin used his ballot to vote for all Japanese players wherever possible, and The Boyfriend actually voted for players who deserved it and not his favorites.  (Though in the case of NL catchers, he asked me to randomly pick a player since none of them apparently deserved it.)

On a random note, I saw a big Supernatural sign by a bus shelter!  Hee.  Oh CW, you are so random.

I am so tempted to go take a picture of that sign.
