*tears*
My laptop is gone.  GONE.

Well, I'll get it back in about two weeks, but that's not really the point.  It's GONE now.  I'm going through serious withdrawals.

It's been giving me problems for about six months now, and it had the poor taste to DIE back in November.  That was traumatizing.  I argued with Best Buy over my warranty and threatened them with my lawyer (hee), and they finally relented and upheld my warranty.  Then, in April, the power cord melted.  It MELTED.  I had to take notes by hand for a week and a half during the worst time of the semester.

When I took it in for the power cord thing, the guy noticed that the case on the screen was cracked and the hinges were in bad shape.  He suggested that I bring it in IMMEDIATELY, but that clearly wasn't an option as long as school was in session.  Finally, last week I took my laptop in to Best Buy for them to ship it away to wherever they ship computers to be fixed.

*cries*  I miss my laptop.  I haven't been able to get on my Internet sites (like this one) or do anything fun (like read about how awesome Asylum was) or even post episode reviews (What the hell, Kripke?).

Anyway, last night I had a terrible nightmare that I received a "3" in one of my classes.  A "3" is basically a D+, because law school is dumb different that way.  (It's like a 4.0 system, but you double the numbers and for some reason an A+ is a 9.)

I was so freaked out that I woke up and checked my grades online on The Boyfriend's computer, knowing full well that they won't be posted until next week.  Then, I couldn't be calmed so I drove out to the law school to talk to the Associate Dean.  Yeah, what the hell is wrong with me?

Really, I came out here to visit the computer lab and post (yay!  The Boyfriend doesn't quite understand this "fandom" thing) and clean out my locker.  I left a coffee mug in there that smells AWFUL.

I actually did come out here to talk to the Associate Dean, but not because I'm freaked out over a stupid nightmare.  I need money.  There's this awesome perk we have where we can borrow money interest-free.

(I took entirely too much joy in typing "Dean" even though this post has practically nothing to do with Supernatural.)

It turns out that the place I'm going to sublet in Colorado (eek! did I just give out too much information?) for the summer is Not Cheap.  I thought I had enough money saved for the deposit, but I was wrong.  All I can say is no wonder I'm going to get paid so much - I thought the guy was joking when he said it wasn't much because that's more than I've ever made IN MY LIFE.

On a happier note, I am so pumped for Heroes tonight.  Yay.  I love a show that will actually answer questions and make me care unlike some other shows I really, really hate right now (I'm looking directly at you, LOST).

Your poor, abused laptop. Law school must be really taking its toll on the thing. If it IS law school's fault. Didn't I tell you to stop glomping the screen every time Jensen has a line?

Eek! Call me tonight, so we can gossip about certain hilarious incidents at Asylum. I'll be home around 6 pm (my time) or so. :)

What? He's so pretty, it's not my fault! :P

(Cue crying polar bear cub) You, too, can prevent Laptop Abuse
I went through two and a half laptops in law school, so be glad that you're only getting your first one fixed. My Gateway crapped out right before finals during my first semester, and my Vaio was taken down by a design flaw (something about typing causing the memory to be pushed down onto the circuit board) during my 1st 5-week class last summer. Fortunately, Sony was able to zombify my Vaio, and put a new motherboard in...but now, the other components are going out. Sigh... I guess laptops should protest law school -- it's their only chance for survival.

It's true. Every single person I know (which is, like, five people) has had a laptop break at some point during the last two years.
